Completely ignore what I said about it not having much of a plot, it really gets going later on. I now understand why I was recommended it.

I recently finished Kasane by Daruma Matsuura, it was really great. It's about an ugly girl who wants to become an actress like her late mother and uses a lipstick that her mother left behind, which allows her to steal someone's face, to achieve this wish.

The other day I finished up Attack on Titan S1. Actually not bad, I thought it would just be shounenshit but it actually kept me engaged half the time. Pleasant surprise. If you haven't seen it I wouldn't recommend it if you're feeling depressed or something like that though.

I first watched it maybe 8 or so years ago, since then I've watched it again several times, each with a new person or people. Each subsequent time I see it the themes hit me more and more, although to say more than that may be a spoiler. Hope you're enjoying one of my favourite series.

Although if I'm being entirely honest I think the music and style has a bit more value to me than the substance, but hey, both contribute to the whole.

Hello. I want some anime that have people attempting to outsmart each other as a major part of the show. I already watched Death Note, Code Geass, Hyouka, Classroom of the Elite, Kaiji, Akagi, No Game No Life (some of it was nonsense, but some of it was really impressive), The Promised Neverland, Legend of the Galactic Heroes (I am mentioning this one even though it wasn't mainly focused on mind games so nobody suggests it anyway), One Outs, Talentless Nana, Kakegurui (some of it was nonsense, but some of it was really impressive), Rokka no Yuusha and Zankyou no Terror (it focused on mind games at the start). Please tell me of more mind game anime.

 No.73

Honestly I really loved Munou na nana, my favourite from 2020 for sure.
Darwin's game was also decent, nothing amazing, but it had those mind game elements, mixed into a bit of action, so you might like it.
I'd also suggest Higurashi if you like that sort of anime. Not so much mind games in the first season, but it does have quite a bit of psychological play later on.

Also thanks for the recommendations, these seem pretty good

 No.74

liar's game
game where poor people are forced to play games of deception in order to win their way out of poverty and possibly make it rich, a girl who is in debt because of her terminally ill father is forced into the game, but she's unable to tell a lie, she then recruits an infamous conman with a degree in psychology to help her out in exchange for half the money, joining them is a transgender bouncer, and a sociopath who is already wealthy and competing just to challenge his brilliant mind.

I too really liked Munou na Nana until the finale focused on emotional nonsense instead of mind games.

Are the mind games a major part of Darwin's Game? Also, I watched all of Higurashi until the 2020 reboot. I didn't find any mind games there.

You are welcome to the recommendations.
>>74
I asked for anime, not manga. I fully read Liar Game at least twice and am currently rereading it now. I'm on the chapter where the musical chair game's rules are explained. It's my absolute favourite manga.

Darwins game was honestly quite forgettable now that i think about it, there was a bit of mind play, but it mostly focuses on action. I remember enjoying it, but it might not be what you're looking for, sorry.

Thank you for the information.

Did you like any of the ones I said I already watched (which you took as recommendations)?

RIP :(

Berserk was never one of my favorites but this guy is a legendary mangaka for sure.

I guess this means Berserk will *never* be finished?

RIP

For some reason I had a feeling it might be coming, probably related to everything being perpetually in hiatus. It'd be almost too convenient for someone like that to die comparatively young and leave everything unfinished.
