Post in this thread if it's between 12 and 6 at night where you are.

I spent the night awake thinking about my future finances and about anhedonia, good combination. At this point I'm staying up for the long haul.

Up at night reading about distributism, socialism, free market economics, having long winded arguments, and thinking about how every purpose apart from God is a disservice to the self. Hello.

Procrastinating sleep. I have a lot to think about, so I know preemptively being left with my thoughts is not going to be a good experience for me.

I think I might actually have plans for the next couple of years, finally. Still, having laid the idea out to myself, I'm prone to a little anxiety. That's why I'm still up, on night 2 now. Something I've always liked about the late night and early morning is the feeling that I have the planet to myself.

I've done it twice for around 6 or so months each time, it's not that bad, but maybe that's because I'm the kind of person that doesn't find it hard to make myself occupied with something. It's a trait I only see in some people.

At this point I'm longing for more free time, it'd be better if it was financially viable in the long-term though, that way no one can stop me.

I find the best method is to stay awake for a long period, set an alarm for your ideal morning time, and crash. Follow the new time from then on. Everything else seems to be less effective and takes longer. Useless for an ongoing bout of insomnia, but works fine if you're just out of sync.

Sucks that it's useless for insomnia, but I'll give it a go anyways. My sleep schedule has been bollocks for a few years now and I'm looking to improve it. Do you think drinking caffeine two hours before bed might make someone crash as well?

>Do you think drinking caffeine two hours before bed might make someone crash as well?
Caffeine before bed would make you stay up for several more hours, unless you already had a high tolerance. Caffeine has a half-life of around 4 or 5 hours in the body, so it's best not to have any after morning if you want to sleep at night. It could help if you want to stay up all night and sleep on the next night.

5:42 here. I couldn't sleep, so I've been surfing the lainchan webring and eventually I found Nyx's blog which led me to this board. Seems nice here.

My friend threw a shit fit today, said we didn't pay enough attention to her and is now ghosting everyone. It's really annoying, because they make no effort to interact either, and just expect us to constantly go to them. At the same time, though, I wonder if they're right. Maybe I have been a bad friend. Guess that's why I can't sleep. I just don't want to lose them.
